Reading The Bible only is just fine, but you could also look into original translations and interpretations, especially when you have questions about what you are reading.

At http://scripture4all.org/ you can download a programm for free wich could help you to check on Bible parts. The literal significance of words is particularly interesting at for example the Creation story.

Some works in The Bible, like Song of Songs, Job and parts of Joshua are even counted to the world literature.
